Thousands of years ago in an era called Silver Millenium; two kingdoms prospered together despite their differences. One established on the Moon and another on Earth. Peace, even if tense and precarious, lasted for centuries-- until a myriad of events brought both kingdoms to a catastrophic end...
2018-- 30 years ago the Special Administrative Zone of Taboga, a joint international effort for the development of technology, academics, and research and a center of knowledge exchange, was founded. As such, it's a sustainably developed island city, designed with the intention of preserving most of the green areas in the island.
Unbeknown to the majority of citizens of Mar de Luna City, underneath the island and a series of cavernous tunnels lie ruins of an unknown origin. That discovery leads to the awakening of a shadow of a past long forgotten that shouldn’t have been disturbed.
The fate of the world lies in the hands of the remnants of the Silver Millenium. Will they awaken and rise to the task?
synastries is a Sailor Moon based game with a twist. Awaken to your role as a soldier of love and justice or witness the events unfold as an innocent bystander.
The World
probably some picture here idk what yetMar de Luna
The fictional Special Administrative Zone of Taboga is situated on the same geographical location as the real island of Taboga in the Gulf of Panama. However, the island is much larger, occupying an area of 70 square miles.
Mar de Luna is the only city located in the SAZ-- a sustainably developed island city, designed with the intention of preserving most of the green areas in the island. It's located a short boat ride away from Panama City.
Neighborhoods
University District
The unofficial extension of the University of Mar de Luna, the District is an area that caters to university students, from apartment buildings that act as unofficial dorms, used bookstores that specialize in college textbooks, countless coffeshops opened at all hours for their studying needs, bars that specialize in dollar beer nights, resturaunts with good lunch bargains, and everything else they could possibly need.
- Pandora’s Box
Located in the University District, Pandora’s Box is the biggest used bookstore and local coffee shop on the entire island. It has a large used academic book section, a big bin of dollar books of questionable quality but at a dollar it’s worth a try, and two floors of books of every genre and interest. They host a book club every Thursday, with a focus on discussing books people found in the Dollar Book Bin and eating cookies. - Crown Bar
Located in the University Distract, Crown is the hot spot for students who need a night to relax. It offers cheap drinks, a variety of arcade games along the back wall, pool tables, and Saturday Night karaoke.
Taboga Town
A fishing town located in a small neighboring island, Taboguilla. At low tide, it's connected to the SAZ by a sand bar. Taboya's townspeople are laid-back and friendly-- maybe too friendly and loud for some of the town's visitors. The town retains most of its spanish colonial architecture, including its main plaza where the town's population meets frequently for its many celebrations. Tucán Beach, located a few minutes by walking from Taboga Town, has become one of the biggest surfing hot spots for the UML students.
The Harbor District
The Harbor District is the tourist central of Mar de Luna and, as a result, most of the island inhabitants ignore it as much as they possibly can. It has family-friendly resturaunts and gift stores that line the beach, water sports like scuba diving and boating, and runs up to the Diamonte District of the University.
- Pier 21
Pier 21 is the main tourist trap area of Mar de Luna and is located in the Harbor District. There are a huge number of tacky souvenir shops, generic chain restaurants, boat tours and scuba diving, a museum that goes into the history of the island and the mission of sustainability, etc.
Downtown Mar de Luna
The professional heart of the island. Downtown Mar de Luna is the home of the official government and most of the corporate business of the island. It is where the most affluent members of Mar de Luna are found, and the shopping centers and resturaunts reflect this. It is considered the artist capital of the island, holds most of the (ethnic) locales, specialty shops, hip resturaunts with unique cuisine, etc. As the first place in Mar de Luna to take off, it is the one area that doesn't looked as pre-designed.
- Artist Ave
Located in Uptown Mar de Luna, Artist Ave is the place to go for any craft or artistic related good. They have a wide variety of fashion stores, from vintage to stores specializing in subculture fashion like goth, craft stores, specialty yarn stores, fabric stores, galleries to showcase your art, and so on. - The Rain Tree
Located in Downtown Mar de Luna. The Rain Tree is the most well known restaurant of Mar de Luna and the place most people will go if they need to impress the people they’re with. The most notable features are the ceiling and walls of glass, so people can see out into the city and the sky, and the large guayacan tree that takes over the center of the dining area. The brief timeframe it’s brilliantly yellow is the highlight of the year for many people, but it is very expensive and difficult to get a reservation in that time frame.
University of Mar de Luna
The College
The university is a sprawling campus along the eastern borders of Mar de Luna, sitting between the east ocean bank and the central downtown area. The University is central to the island’s goals of development and research of green technology and sustainability, and the campus itself reflects that. Like the rest of the island, it is run entirely on solar and wind power. The buildings are designed to take advantage of the sunlight and climate of the island and connected by paths lined in flora native to the island.

Rules, FAQ, and Codes
Rules
CIVILITY
Please be civil. While differences in opinion are inevitable, they are no excuse to be rude to other players. If players are unable to end a dispute between themselves, they should contact one of the mods at Mod e-mail or the dropbox.
No bullying will be tolerated. On that note, it's highly encouraged to turn off anonymous commenting (change Enable Commenting from "Everybody" to "Registered Users," and also set Log IP Addresses to "Everyone"), to avoid anonymous bullying.
OOC/GODMODDING
Stay aware and don't blur the line between IC and OOC. In other words, don't allow OOC knowledge to influence IC knowledge and actions. Don't have your characters point out mistakes, such as misspellings or dropped words, in the comments of other characters; since many players RP from their phones, mistakes happen. If a comment is unclear due to the mistake, reach out to the player for clarification before responding. All players have the right not to want to pursue a ship, interaction, or line. Be aware of ICC (in character consequences) and the situations you put your characters in.
CHARACTER LIMIT
Players are currently only allowed four characters max. You may not apply for more than two female characters.
ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS
Players are expected to post one activity item per character per month. Activity checks will occur on the last weekend of each month.
You need one of the following items:
- An open blog post.
- A log. If you're submitting two logs, please ensure it's done with two different characters.
- Two comment threads of your character talking to two different characters. Each comment thread needs at least five comments from your character.
- An IC/OOC post.
Awakened characters require two items.
HIATUSES
Hiatuses can be for up to two weeks. A hiatus longer than that should be previously discussed with the mods to accommodate for your character's absence.
A hiatus counts as one activity item for one character.
WARNINGS
synastries operates under a three strike system. After three warnings for breaking the rules, you will be removed from the game.
APPLICATIONS
To apply, you must first hold your character here. Once your hold is accepted, you must fill this form in your journal, and then link it in the same entry. Holds last for five days. You may request an extension of two additional days.
Adds will be done at least once every 48 hours.
PBs
You may use any PB born between 1987 and 1997. A few exceptions may be made on a case by case basis-- please contact us through the dropbox or email first in these cases.
PLOT
Significant plots that affect the whole game should be run and approved by the mod team.
Absolutely no past/present/future miscarriages, abortions, suicides, rape, self-harm, eating disorders or sexual/physical/animal abuse will be permitted during, or in the backstory of, the game. We hope to keep the game atmosphere positive and avoid political or religious debates.
JOURNALS
Entries posted in synastriesnet are viewable to everyone unless stated otherwise.
Strike-outs are not readable and indicate text that was typed and deleted before the message was posted. Private text should be formatted as follows:

It should always be assumed unless stated otherwise, that if a private is not addressed to your character or a group your character is in, (s)he cannot read the message.
FAQ
Do I need previous knowledge of Sailor Moon to join?
No. Everything you might need to know will be explained during the course of the game. Besides, we'll be taking several liberties with the source material.
What kind of characters can I play?
You may play junior or senior undergrad students (as of fall semester 2018) or grad students, between 20 and 28 years old.
What happens during the time between Spring and Fall Semester?
For the sake of the game, we ask you to kindly figure out a reason why your character is staying on the island. Whether it's an internship, vacation, classes, work or whatever other reason you'd like.
How do I apply for a Sailor/Guardian?
You don't directly hold these positions. After applying and being accepted into the game, you must answer a questionnaire where you can show your interest.
Can I play a villain?
Yes, however, the slots available are very limited, and the process is exactly the same as the previous question. Do keep in mind that your character's identity as a villain will be eventually, and definitely revealed via the plot.
What does it mean to awaken?
To awaken is to access and harness the power of the Star Crystal inside of the character.
What is a Star Crystal?
Each planet has two Star Crystals. One nocturnal aspected and the other diurnal aspected. They are intrinsically linked to the life force of the person they belong to. Aside from great power, they hold the memories from their previous lives.
What role does a villain play? What additonal things would I do as a player?
At the beginning of the game, the villains strongly need to obtain lifeforce from innocent people. The why and methods will be revealed to the players involved in the plot and at a later time to everyone else.
Can I change my mind if I’m offered to Awaken or play a villain, and I decided I do not want to play it? What about if decided against it but now want to be considered?
You will be given multiple opportunities to turn down the role. However, some details will be kept hidden until you agree to play the role. Once you give up on an offered position, there’s no guarantee you’ll be given one again, and you’ll definitely not be given the same one. However, as long as you don't have a role, you may change your answers to the secret questionnaire to be considered for the next time the roles are decided.
When will the game be running? When is the game itself set?
The game will be running April, 2018 to December 31st, 2018. The game itself is set in present time.
What are the differences between the different communities? What kind of content goes into them?
- [info]synastriesic is for logs
- [info]synastriesnet is journal entries, social media (such as Twitter and Instagram) posts
- [info]synastriesooc is for OOC discussion, IC/OOC events, and character building memes
Can I play my own relative/roommate/etc?
No. You may NPC family members who aren’t age appropriate to be played. Contact the mods through the dropbox if you want a family member to be added to the NPC list.
What are NPCs?
NPCs exist to liven up the narrative of the game. They can be mentioned in logs and blog posts, and generally, they are people who often interact with the student base. Please do contact and get cleared by the players responsible for each NPC if they make a personal appearance in a log.
Please leave a comment in the dropbox if you have any questions not addressed in this section or if you require further clarification!
